Dubai Chocolate Dates
These days it feels like you can’t scroll through TikTok without seeing at least 2-3 videos of the viral Dubai chocolate bars. I made the bars a few months ago and they were absolutely delicious. Recently, while scrolling through some old photos I found stuffed dates that I used to ship during Ramadan. Then came an idea… take the Dubai chocolate pistachio filling and put them inside of dates!

Recipe in grams: I used gram measurements for this recipe (and for most recipes) as baking is a science and grams gives the best and most accurate measurements. Above, I linked the kitchen scale I use.
Shredded Filo Dough: Please, please, please try to find actual shredded filo dough! It makes all the difference, you will not get the same type of crunch by making it yourself.

Dubai Chocolate Dates
Ingredients
Stuffed Dates
- 12 medjool dates
- 60 grams shredded filo dough
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 150 grams pistachio paste
- 10 grams tahini
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
- 200 grams dark chocolate
- 1 tsp flakey salt
Instructions
Date Preparation
- Take 12 medjool dates, cut them open and pit them.
Filling
- Chop the shredded filo dough into fine pieces
- Separate the dough to avoid clumps
- Add the unsalted butter into a sauce pan and melt
- Once melted, add the shredded filo dough and cook until golden brown
- Remove from heat and transfer into a bowl
- Add the pistachio paste, tahini, chopped pistachios, and mix until fully combined
- Fill each date with the pistachio filling
- Refrigerate until you are ready to dip into the chocolate
Melting Chocolate
- Add your chocolate into a heat proof bowl and microwave for 30 seconds
- Mix and then melt for another 30 seconds
- Repeat until your chocolate is fully melted and silky smooth
- Be careful not to over heat your chocolate
Assembly
- Using a fork, dip the filled dates into the chocolate to fully coat
- Once they are fully set, drizzle with more chocolate and top with pistachios and flakey salt
